• Florian Martin, NewsLab coordinator/reporter, KUHF
• Jeffery Wilkinson, Houston Baptist University journalism professor and former radio broadcaster
Houston is home to an array of news radio stations that offer listeners news at the touch of a dial whether at home, on the road or at work. But, what goes into providing listeners all the news they desire and some they didn’t even know they needed?
Representatives from Houston’s news radio stations will discuss what the future holds for Houston news radio, as well as how they keep listeners tuned in and how they compete with emerging technology that threatens to take away their audience and has already shrunk other media outlets.
There will always be newspapers and TV, but news radio offers newshounds a tried and true venue to absorb headlines anywhere, anytime.
The SPJ Houston Pro Chapter will have a brief open meeting prior to the panel discussion. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
Please RSVP to email@example.com.
