Houston TV stations clean up in AP broadcasters’ contest; KHOU takes eight first-places

Houston’s television stations cleaned up in the 2011 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters’ contest.

Here’s a look at who won what first-place awards:

KHOU-Channel 11: Newscast; news anchor or anchor team, Christine Haas; spot story-individual; series, Mark Greenblatt and Keith Tomshe’s “Corporations Helping Crooks”; reporter, Kevin Reece; feature editing-general news; online special content, radiation and Houston water supply report; and morning newscast.

KRIV-Channel 26: Weathercast, Jim Seibert; light feature; specialty or beat reporting, Greg Groogan, Mark Muller and Matt Matejka for “Kids’ School”;

KPRC-Channel 2: Website.
