Representing, reporting on terrorism suspects to be topic of Jan. 29 ‘Law & the Media’ seminar

Guardtower at Guantanamo BayThe topic has been unveiled for Houston’s 2011 “Law and the Media” seminar: Representing and reporting on those accused of terrorism.

The organizers are promising some tantalizing details: “Go behind the scenes of the biggest counter-terrorism cases with journalists, attorneys and a former suspect.”

This will be the 25th annual seminar. It’s sponsored by the Houston Bar Association, Houston SPJ and the Houston Press Club.

The venue will be the South Texas College of Law, 1301 San Jacinto St. (See the map below if you need directions.)

There’s no admission charge for journalists, communications professionals, law students or journalism students, the Bar Association says. Attorneys can get in for $40 and receive 3.0 hours of continuing education credit.
